Dozens gathered inside the Lee Espinoza Coachella Valley Boxing Club to witness Representative Ruiz present Espinoza with the authentic congressional plaque. Several others were recognized by congress including WBC Champion Sebastian "the Towering Inferno" Fundora, undefeated flyweight boxer Gabriela Fundora, and USA Boxing National Champion Jocelyn Camarillo. Former IBF Champion Randy "El Matador" Caballero, world trainer Marcos Caballero, Coachella Mayor Steve Hernandez, and Coachella Mayor Pro Tem Josie Gonzalez were also in attendance.

36th Congressional District Representative Raul Ruiz enters Lee Espinoza's name into the Congressional Record. The entry places the Espinoza name and story into the record of United States history.
